Referrals

Do I need a referral?

A valid referral from your General Practitioner or Specialist is required to claim a Medicare rebate for your consultation.

How long is my referral valid?

  • GP referrals are generally valid for 12 months

  • Specialist referrals are generally valid for 3 months unless otherwise specified

How can I send my referral?

Referrals can be sent via:

  • Fax

  • Healthlink

  • Email

How are referrals managed?

All referrals are reviewed and triaged by our clinical team prior to an appointment being arranged. Urgent referrals are prioritised where appropriate.

Appointments

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring:

  • Your referral

  • Medicare card

  • Private health insurance details (if applicable)

  • Current medication list

  • Relevant test results or imaging

How long will my appointment take?

Appointment times vary depending on the type of consultation or testing being performed.

While we aim to run as close to schedule as possible, delays can occasionally occur due to the complexity and unpredictability of medical care. We recommend allowing extra time for your visit where possible.

If you have commitments following your appointment, please contact our team prior to attending so we can advise if the clinic is running behind schedule.

Fees & Billing

Are you a bulk billing practice?

No. Integral Healthcare is a private billing practice. Medicare rebates may apply where eligible.

How can I pay?

We accept:

  • EFTPOS

Cancellation Policy

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We kindly ask that you provide:

  • At least 24 hours’ notice for specialist consultations and most appointments

  • At least 48 hours’ notice for Exercise Physiology appointments

Late cancellations or non-attendance may incur a cancellation fee.

Diagnostic Testing

Do I need to prepare for my test?

Preparation requirements vary depending on the type of test being performed. Our team will provide specific instructions prior to your appointment where required.

If you have previously undergone cardiac testing elsewhere, please inform our team at the time of booking your appointment.

Procedures

Where are procedures performed?

Procedures are performed in hospital by your treating cardiologist and are arranged following consultation with one of our cardiologists.

What happens after my procedure is booked?

Our team will coordinate your hospital booking and provide:

  • admission details

  • preparation instructions

  • fasting requirements (if applicable)

  • follow-up appointment information
